Benjamin Elected Secretary/Treasure of AIA South Carolina

Radium Architecture is pleased to announce Brad Benjamin, AIA, has been elected to serve as the 2015 Secretary / Treasurer of the South Carolina Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). Benjamin was elected by the membership during the annual AIA South Carolina conference which was held April 24 – 26 in Myrtle Beach, SC.

Benjamin is the founder, CEO, and President of Radium Architecture, Inc., an architecture firm providing diverse projects in architecture, planning, and interior environments to a wide range of clients.

During almost 20 years as an AIA member, Benjamin has held numerous leadership positions including AIA South Carolina Board of Directors (2005-2007), Knowledge Director of the AIA National Associates Committee (2007-2008), AIA Greenville President (2009), and Chair of the national Young Architect’s Forum (2013). Early in his career, Benjamin has won distinction as a leader in the profession on a state, regional and national scale. Brad has been recognized as one of Greenville Magazine’s “Best and Brightest 35 & Under” honorees in 2007 as well as one of Building Design & Construction magazine’s “40 Under 40” honorees in 2012.

Recently, Benjamin was named a recipient of the 2014 Young Architect Award from the American Institute of Architects (AIA). This award, now in its 20th year, is one of the highest individual honors the AIA can bestow upon a member. The award honors AIA members who have shown exceptional leadership and made significant contributions to the architecture profession early in their careers. Benjamin is only the second South Carolinian and the third Clemson University alumnus to have ever received the award. In addition, he is also the first AIA member to receive both the AIA’s Associate Member of the Year Award (which has since been elevated to the Associates Award) and the Young Architect Award.

Mr. Benjamin received his Bachelor of Science in Design, his Bachelor of Science in Construction Science, and his Master of Architecture all from Clemson University. With almost 20 years of experience in the architecture profession, he has been a design and project team member for a wide variety of notable Greenville projects.
