07 Oct Benjamin elected 2017 AIA SC President
Radium Architecture is pleased to announce Brad Benjamin, AIA, has been elected to serve as the 2017 President of the South Carolina Chapter of the American Institute of Architects.
As President, Mr. Benjamin will represent the 950 members throughout the state. Established in 1913, AIA South Carolina advocates the South Carolina architect as the valued collaborative leader in shaping the built environment for the public good. AIA South Carolina’s mission is to “facilitate dialogue and the dissemination of knowledge that inspires and enables architects, policy makers and the public to engage creatively and credibly in promoting a better environment and future for all.”
Mr. Benjamin is the founder of Radium Architecture, Inc., a Greenville, SC based architecture firm providing diverse projects in architecture, planning, and interior environments to a wide range of clients.
With over 20 years as an AIA member, Benjamin has held numerous leadership positions within the AIA, including President of AIA Greenville and Chair of the national AIA Young Architect’s Forum. Benjamin has won distinction on a local, state, and national scale as leader in the profession early in his career. He has been recognized as a leader in the architecture profession, receiving numerous awards including the national AIA Young Architect Award in 2014 and Building Design + Construction magazine’s “40 Under 40” award.
Mr. Benjamin has served on many local boards and committees including the Greenville Chamber’s Leadership Greenville Board of Regents, the Young Philanthropists Council of the United Way, Pecha Kucha Night Greenville, and Architecture for Humanity.
Mr. Benjamin received his Bachelor of Science in Design, his Bachelor of Science in Construction Science, and his Master of Architecture all from Clemson University. With over fifteen years of experience in the architecture profession, he has been a design and project team member for a wide variety of notable Greenville projects.
